Russell Vale Animal Clinic , NSW
Other things you should know about me
Job title: The Supervisor
How I arrived at my clinic: I came in as a stray kitten when I was 5 months old, and after all attempts to find my owners, was given to Dr Liz’s father to look after whilst she was away on holidays. I stayed there for 8 years. I love my food, and I managed to eat some chicken bones from the rubbish bin, so I came back to Dr Liz, who took me home for the weekend. I managed to escape from a shower cubicle, open a bathroom window, and remove a shower screen and escape. I escaped from Dapto, and was found 18 months later in Figtree (which was one suburb away from my original home of West Wollongong). Dr Liz’s father had since passed away when I was found, so I came back to live with Dr Liz – I stayed at the same house that I originally escaped from for 4 years. As I had gained weight, and was limping badly on my right foreleg, I came back to live at the vet hospital to lose weight and increase activity, where I have been since late April.
My favourite things: I love my food, but I absolutely love and demand head rubs and pats from everyone that I meet. My favourite treats are cashews, Doritos and Red Rock Chilli chips.
My naughtiest habits: Scaring the larger breed dogs, who try so hard to be good despite my taunting them. I love to steal any food and treats that I can. I will stand my ground, and I do not tolerate idiots.
My special needs: I am obese, and have degenerative joint disease in my right elbow. All weight loss diets in the past have failed, and clinic staff are now trying again with the new Hills diet (to date I have lost 760 grams). I am on anti-inflammatories and preventative arthritis injections, and increased activity through my interactions at the vet hospital. I no longer get to sleep all day at home, but has to now work for a living, welcoming all of the pets we see.
