Dora 3 years
Central Highlands Vets, VIC
Dora the most aDORAble, lovable stray who stayed.
Job titlePart time receptionist, cupboard warmer, taste tester. Full time smoocher.
My day-to-day task listFirst thing- EAT! Task 2; sit on discharge notes at reception so that everyone gets to looks me. Alternatively, wave my big fluffy tail in clients faces, just so that you know they have noticed how pretty it is. Thereafter, mix it up a little. Sometimes I keep my eye on the front path. Sometimes I let myself into consults to supervise my staff. Other times I get right into quality control. Trying new diets, testing out the new pile of dog beds, that sort of thing. It is ESSENTIAL that I get at least 5 hours of sleep a day. Either in the filing tray or in the towel cupboard is fine. I'm not fussy!
My favourite thingsI love cupboards! I also enjoy having sleepovers with all my feline friends. Sometimes I steal food from their kennels! I love it when my staff sit down for lunch. I often sample their strange foods. Variety is the spice of life!
My naughtiest habitSometimes I hide in the surgery cupboard and when things get interesting I push the door open and surprise everyone! Sometimes I delude myself into thinking I can handle the great outdoors and sneak out. Then the barbarians out there scare me and I hide under the clinic so that my staff have to crawl under to save me!
What do my clients think of me?They see me as I truly am. Beautiful, sweet and desirable. I have been offered many new homes but I couldn't leave my staff. It would break their hearts!
Other things you should know about me
I came to the clinic as an adult stray. As soon as the nurses saw me they knew I was 'the one'. The vets didn't take long to convince either! I seem to know when something sad is happening and I am always there, ready to cuddle our clients when they need me most.
