Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming!

Job title

We are the 'quiet observers' and 'entertainers'. We also run a 'short-stay day care service' for anyone who brings their children into the clinic. There isn't a child in the world who couldn't be entertained by us!

My day-to-day task list

Our day starts when our tank light is turned on. Soon after we start greeting clients. Our main job is to follow clients around our tank and maintain direct eye contact for as long as possible. Sometimes we will dry dock on our rock, but most times our humans need to dry dock us because we refuse to do it- why bark when we have many dogs to do it for us? Or in our case, human helpers... and a lot less barking! HAHA! We also have daily leisurely swims with the fish to maintain our friendships. Fish are friends, not food... Right?

My favourite things

Our absolute favourite thing in the whole wide world is being extra difficult for our human helpers. We do this by refusing to eat like a 'wild turtle', which would normally catch it's food. We rather the delicacies of being hand fed over a period of 15-30 minutes. Our human helpers complain that they 'don't have time for this', but they continue to do it for us every time! We love mussels! In fact, most of our favourite things are centred around food... which is why our human helpers had to stop feeding us daily and cut down to 3 times per week. That was not something that made it to our 'favourite things' list.

My naughtiest habit

Sometimes we will try to bite our human helpers when they are trying to feed us or get us out of our tank to dry dock. But we are very sorry afterwards! We make sure to give them extra eye contact as an apology. Perhaps if they gave us extra Mussels we would stop?

What do my clients think of me?

We are loved by everyone! We love to interact with them and follow them as far as our tank will let us. We always hear the clients complimenting us to our human helpers, so we know we are loved!
