Peace, love and catnip...
Job titleKeeper of the North (shore), protector of snacks, and biter of phone cords.
My clinic dutiesMy duties are pretty simple. I am the emotional support cat for patients, clients and staff. I offer support by allowing pats and cuddles. I offer amusement by playing with the thing that I probably shouldn’t be playing with and sitting on thing I shouldn’t be sitting on. Sometimes the peoples get sad. Their beloved companion may be sick, or at the end of their journey and I like to make them feel better by simply sitting with them. Other times the Vets and nurses may be sad when they lose a patient they have come to know so well. It’s my job to make them feel better by tolerating hugs and playing with the toys they give me. I also clean up after boarders and patients who can not finish their meals. I see this as a very important part of my role.
My favourite thingsI love when kittens come to stay. Their pee smells weird.
My naughtiest habitI’m not gonna lie... From time to time I poop on the floor of the practice owner’s office. Just because... I also like to sit just out of reach of cranky dogs, to see how loud they can bark.
What makes me an important part of the team?My nurses say that what makes me an important part of the team is simply my being here.
Other things you should know about me
I feel that the role of a clinic cat is a pretty important one. I offer support and make people smile everyday. I love when clients come in and specifically ask to see me! I even have a fan club at the local child care centre. They send me mail and everything! Look me up on Instagram @gordonvet
