Vote for Charmin’ Marvin MEOW, and make fat cats great again!

Job title

I like to think my best title shows my true soft side – I go by ‘Uncle Marv’ for our adoption kittens. I do have many jobs throughout the clinic on a day to day basis though. Some of them include the following: Second in Command, Security, Emotional Support, Pest Control, Welcoming Party, as well as Quality Control/Food Taster. I have other more casual titles such as ‘Fatty, Fat, Fat’, ‘No I Am Not Feeding You More’ and ‘Where are you?’

My clinic duties

You can probably guess some of my duties from my variety of job titles above. I generally keep this place running. The vets and nurses couldn’t do it without me! I keep the pests away, keep the clients happy, make sure their food won’t be of poor quality to feed my dear patients that come through. Helping the adoption kittens grow and learn is a vital job that can only be done by a true cat! I also am a watcher over any patients that come in and out of the clinic. I like to make sure they are happy and comfortable. I hope they understand my team are doing their best to help them out.

My favourite things

When I see one of my nurses bring in a carry cage with a little meow or squeak, I know it is my time to shine. I absolutely LOVE when I get to help raise adoption kittens who come through our clinic during the year. It doesn’t happen regularly, but when it does, I just get so happy! I can teach them to play and jump and run (and be naughty!). I also help teach them manners and when enough is enough. I’d like to think I am setting them up for a long and happy life in their fur-ever home wherever it may be.

My naughtiest habit

I love to taste test food bags… yes BAGS, not the food. I just love that crinkly, crunchy, cold texture, makes me feel good! I also like to confuse my clinic nurses by making them think I want more food by doing this, so yay for extra kibble! I also like to give my clients a ‘Marvin Discount’. The nurses have to discount the broken bags, which means I can help those out who might need a few dollars off. I did get in quite big trouble once for eating a large bag of an expensive, strict food allergy trial bag… I might stick to the urinary foods instead…

What makes me an important part of the team?

I like to think on those busy, hectic, sometimes emotional days; for both my clinic staff and my clients, I can lend a support paw. The Veterinary Industry can be a tolling place to work sometimes, and to have the soft cuddle and purr from a friendly animal helps to warm the soul. I know my staff get angry at me sometimes but deep down I know they love me, and my clients do too. I love to put smiles on their faces each day.

Other things you should know about me

Don’t forget to check out our clinics Instagram page as well! I like to make sure our cute and quirky patients get their photo up for the world to see!
