Hi, I’m Ebony, your local rep in Victoria!
I’ve become part of the furniture at Dermcare, having worked here for the past 10 years—give or take some time away to have my girls.
I qualified as a Cert IV veterinary nurse many moons ago (I won’t say how long, as it might give away my age!). I chose to study vet nursing because I’m passionate about animal health and wellbeing—a passion that’s still going strong today. I started out in general practice, then moved into emergency and critical care nursing, which really shaped my understanding and appreciation of the veterinary industry.
My dearly departed French Bulldog opened my eyes to the world of dermatology in pets. I was trying to get a handle on managing his complex skin disease—there were so many moving parts involved in keeping him comfortable and managing his symptoms.
These days, our family unit includes my husband, our two daughters, and our large (Ted) and small (Nicks) brachycephalic dogs. Nicks is a 5-year-old Griffon who you might mistake for a burly security guard, always ready to take on the next delivery driver. Ted is a far-too-bouncy 2-year-old Boxer who’s currently in training to walk in a straight line in public.
A random fact about me: I’m terrified of birds and allergic to several animal species—which occasionally made things tricky while working in-clinic as a vet nurse!
Over the past 10 years at Dermcare, I’ve had the honour and pleasure of meeting some incredibly talented and passionate veterinary professionals who have so kindly welcomed me into their space. I’m grateful that clinic teams take the time to hear from me about updates in veterinary dermatology, product information, and continuing education. I especially enjoy chatting in-clinic about managing allergic skin disease and exploring the many ways we can help make these patients comfortable and happy.
